George Clooney Just Turned 59 And He's Still Sexy As Ever

Clooney is a prime example of silver fox style done right but there's a lot more to him than just great looks

Does George Clooney age like fine wine or does he age like fine wine? The Hollywood heartthrob just turned 59 years old as he celebrated his birthday on May 6.  Unfortunately, this year, the actor has his birthday amid the coronavirus pandemic as people practice social distancing around the country. Which is quite different from how he celebrated it last year. According to People, in May 2019, Clooney opened up about how he celebrated turning 58, telling Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he’d had a “good day.” “My wife and I had dinner just the two of us at home, which was really nice,” Clooney said of spending the day with his wife, Amal Clooney. “But my wife has been, for the last year, working literally every single day with a gentleman named Steven Adler, who runs Reuters, and a brilliant lawyer named Gail Gove to get and to free the Reuters journalists from Myanmar. A year of working on it, and last night they walked out of prison. So we were very happy. I got nothing,” he joked.

His two children — twins Ella and Alexander who were turning three at the time— just got him “poop” for his birthday, though he did reveal that little Ella spent quality time with him in a different way. “My daughter is sick, as happens apparently with children, I didn’t know this,” he said. “So at 2:30 she woke us up on my birthday, and then at 4:30 in the morning. So then we put her in the bed, which you have to do ‘cause she’s crying and she’s unhappy. And then she takes over the bed. And then I realized that’s no good, so I covered all around the bed with pillows like a bouncy castle in case she falls off, and I went and slept in her nursery.”

Ah! Nothing like a gorgeous man, with a sense of humor. Clooney won the title of  People's Sexiest Man Alive twice in 1997, and again in 2006. But despite his good looks, "I don't go on that many dates," he told People magazine after his second win. His friend Bradd Pitt was also a two-time honoree. “Brad’s going to be upset,” the actor joked. “This one’s going to be hard for Brad (Pitt) since he’s been Sexiest Man Alive twice. He’s enjoyed that mantle. I’d say ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ to him and he’d go, ‘Two-time.’ So that’s been taken away. We used to call him Two Time. So Brad’s going to be upset.” “There’s a lot of pressure,” he said of the Sexiest Man Alive honor. “There are all the events you have to show up for. The sash you have to wear is embarrassing.” But what does being sexy mean to the actor? “Everybody says this, but sense of humor is No. 1 for me. It’s certainly what’s most attractive. It’s not the first thing you notice at 21, but it’s the first thing you notice now. You also have to have a sense of humor about my life. It certainly has had an effect on relationships, but I would bet less of an effect than my own issues or insecurities. You can’t really blame outside forces for things not working out. You have to take some responsibility.”

Gorgeous, check. Sense of humor, check. A great actor? The multiple Oscars says it all. Add humanitarian to the list and George Clooney seems unreal! George Clooney and Amal Clooney (who is equally gorgeous and a badass lawyer to boot)  donated more than $1 Million to six charities as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread across the United States. The Clooneys donated $250,000 each to the Motion Picture and Television Fund, the SAG-AFTRA Fund, and the Los Angeles Mayor’s Fund. Additionally, the Clooneys donated $300,000 to three international charities: the Lebanese Food Bank, the National Health Service COVID-19 appeal, and the Lombardo Italy Region. Do you need any more reason to find Clooney attractive as hell? Twitter seems to agree with us!
