Her mother was actor Janet Leigh, and her father, actor Tony Curtis.
Jamie Lee Curtis was born to famous parents and into a showbusiness family. Her mother was actress Janet Leigh (Psycho), and her father, actor Tony Curtis (Some Like It Hot). Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh divorced after 11 years of marriage when the Scream Queens actress was only a child in 1962. Jamie Lee herself joined the biz in her teens and gained recognition in horror films and other genres over the years. The now-63-year-old actress has admitted in the past how she was affected by her parents’ split when she was just three years old. The actress admitted that the divorce made it difficult to believe in true love.
"Once in a while when their images find me unexpectedly, I’m caught by not only their extreme beauty but their deep love and ambition,” she wrote sharing a vintage, black-and-white photo of her parents when they were together, sent to her by her sister. “As the product of 13 divorces in my immediate family I have often struggled with the idea of love, what happens to it? There are only a couple reminders to me that I was born from love and not resentment, competition, jealousy and rancor which are the cornerstones of any unpleasant divorce. I also forget that they were famous and loved worldwide,” she added.
Speaking of her family life growing up and her relationship with her father, she told Open the Magazine, "I didn’t grow up with him, I barely knew him, but he did say to me once, ‘Never let them shoot you with anything less than a 50.’ That is the only sort of big advice he gave me." The actress added, "Tony Curtis disinherited his five children. So, the miracle of course is that I’ve been working since I was 19 years old and I had a career of my own regardless of any inheritance from either one of my parents. But that is not necessarily the same for everyone in my family. And that has a lot to do with marriages, and there are 11 marriages in my family of three, between my mother, my father and stepfather."

In the 1950s, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh were perhaps the most beloved Hollywood couple but towards the end, their relationship grew bitter. When Jamie Lee was born in 1958, the couple's relationship had already turned sour. "By the time I came along, following my sister, Kelly, by two and a half years, my parents' bond had deteriorated precipitously as their stardom grew," she recalled. "And like any other save-the-marriage baby, I failed." For years, the True Lies actress harbored resentment towards her parents for the toxic environment into which she was born. "My parents hated each other my whole life," she said on The View, as per NY Daily News. "I was raised in a house of hatred." She also pointed out, "And as a child of famous people going through divorce, I beg you — do not buy magazines with these children on it, do not support the public shaming of people who are public figures going through divorce because I'm a child of it. And I will tell you it's heartbreaking and painful enough without having a public scrutiny to it."
