Jennifer Garner Delivers Homemade Cookies To First Responders ‘Still In The Thick Of It’

The actress reminded her followers that doctors and nurses on the frontlines were still struggling to cope with the pandemic, encouraging them to show some love.

Earlier this week, the "13 Going on 30" actress Jennifer Garner posted a TikTok video of herself baking homemade cookies and delivering them to doctors and nurses who are still on the frontlines fighting COVID-19. The kind gesture helped cheer up the first responders working at the LAC+USC Medical Center's Department of Emergency Medicine, which is affiliated with the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. In her caption for the TikTok video, she reaffirmed her support for and appreciation of healthcare workers doing their best to keep us all safe, Today.com reports.

"First responders are still in the thick of it and miles past burn out," she stated in the caption. "We see you and appreciate you! (Thank you, #LACUSC Emergency Med!)" In the TikTok clip, Garner whips up a delicious-looking batch of cookies, then ties them in bags, which she places in a basket. She proceeds to the hospital and greets workers. She says, "I’m so sorry to take you away. I appreciate you." Before she left, the actress stopped for a group photo with all the doctors and nurses who deeply appreciated her thoughtful act of kindness during these challenging times.

And, users on social media platforms were mighty impressed too. On Instagram alone, Garner has received immense praise—as well as thousands of views and likes. One person commented on Instagram, "Beautiful inside and out." Another added, "You are such a kind and genuine person." The "Dallas Buyers Club" star also earned kind compliments from her pals and fellow celebrities. Ina Garten, for instance, wrote (with multiple emojis), "You’re beyond wonderful!" "Yumminess, angel," Selma Blair stated. "When you dropped off fresh sweet potato pudding for me, I was warmed for months afterward. Your kindness and creativity and thoughtfulness are so appreciated in this world. Thank you, dearest woman. These first responders deserve all the support."

Evidently, Garner has touched the lives of many souls in the recent (and not so recent) past. The actress has gained a reputation as a certified Nice Person over the years for the many acts of kindness she fulfills, often without much recognition. For example, in 2009, Garner became an artist ambassador for Save the Children USA, promoting national literacy, nutrition, and early education efforts. Since 2014, she has served on the board of trustees for the organization, advocating for early childhood education. As part of her advocacy, she frequently visits with families involved in the organization's Early Steps to School Success program, which coaches families to help children learn in the early years.

Furthermore, the "Dude, Where's My Car?" actress has expressed democratic political support for none other than Barack Obama during the 2008 Democratic Primary. Although she once claimed she was "not a particularly outwardly political person," all her actions point towards a fierce passion for justice, equality, and liberty. Garner also co-founded the organic, fresh baby food company Once Upon a Farm in 2018. The firm is the first refrigerated baby food available to families eligible for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children. All we have to say is, go little Garner rockstar, go!
