Riley Keough, Lisa Marie Presley and Priscilla Presley Unite For Graceland Screening of 'Elvis'

Three generations of the Presley family attended the 'Elvis' special screening at Graceland, Memphis, in Tennessee on June 11.

In a special screening of Elvis held at Graceland, Memphis, in Tennessee, on June 11, 2022, Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough made a rare appearance together in dazzling black dresses.

Riley Keough posted about the screening on her Instagram, thanking director Baz Lurhmann for bringing the film to Graceland. "We're so thrilled to be in Memphis with @elvismovie and with all of the wonderful performers. Austin Butler, Olivia De Jonge, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Tom Hanks have all done outstanding work," she wrote. The biopic is set to release in theatres on June 24, 2022, and 45 days later on HBO Max. However, there are scheduled special screenings happening all across America on June 21, with attendees receiving a commemorative poster for the same.

Speaking at the Graceland screening, Lisa Marie Presley expressed her joy at the accuracy of the biopic and said that "it has been done right." In a video from the screening posted by Luhrmann, she is heard lauding the representation of her father and speaks highly of the way the film has honored her father. Previously too, the Presley daughter has taken to Instagram to talk about Austin Butler's performance, complimenting the star and writing: "Austin Butler channeled and embodied my father's heart and soul beautifully. In my humble opinion, his performance is unprecedented and FINALLY done accurately and respectfully. (If he doesn't get an Oscar for this, I will eat my own foot, haha.)"

Lisa Marie's adoration didn't end there. She also complimented Lurhmann for treating this story with the respect that she feels he has done. "You can feel and witness Baz's pure love, care, and respect for my father throughout this beautiful film, and it is finally something that myself and my children and their children can be proud of forever," she wrote. Lisa Marie also remembered her late son Benjamin who, according to TODAY, died in 2020. She revealed that it was the reactions of her children to the film that moved her to tears. She said she felt like they had been "overwhelmed in the best possible way" by the performance.

"What moved me to tears as well was watching Riley and Harper, and Finley afterward, all 3 visibly overwhelmed in the best way possible way, and so filled with pride about their grandfather and his legacy in a way that I have not previously experienced. It breaks my heart that my son isn't here to see it. He would have absolutely loved it as well. I can't tell you enough how much I love this film and I hope you love it too," Lisa Marie wrote.

For Priscilla Presley, it was the 12-minute standing ovation at the end of the film premiere at Cannes that really cemented the impact of this film. "There was not an empty seat in the large theatre including the balcony. From my understanding, it was the longest ovation ever received for a film. Actor Austin Butler's performance as Elvis was mesmerizing," she wrote in a post shared on Instagram.

Their positive reactions have placed a seal of approval on the film and with the successful presentation at Cannes, the film is highly anticipated for release. The film is centered around Elvis Presley (played by Austin Butler) and his complex relationship with his manager Colonel Tom Parker (played by Tom Hanks). It traces the early life of Elvis starting from Tupelo, Mississippi, to his rise to stardom starting in Memphis, Tennessee, and his conquering of Las Vegas, Nevada. The story is about the first rock n' roll star. The cast also includes Olivia DeJonge, Dacre Montgomery, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Luke Bracey. As of this moment, the film has a 77% score on Rotten Tomatoes
