In the wake of the scandal caused by the BBC documentary 'Leaving Neverland', Michael Jackson's former maid has come forward with shocking insights about his brief marriage to Lisa Marie Presley.
The controversy surrounding the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, deepens with each passing day. Even as the waves caused by the recent HBO documentary Leaving Neverland continues to rock the music industry, Jackson's former maid Adrian McManus has now come forward with a unique insight into his brief relationship with his first wife Lisa Marie Presley. The 56-year-old claims the Smooth Criminal singer never actually loved Lisa and that he was with her only to get to her legendary father Elvis Presley's extensive music catalog. Adrian's statements about the couple's relationship comes in the wake of similar claims made by rape accuser James Safechuck in the aforementioned documentary.
Speaking about Jackson in the Dan Reed documentary, Safechuck claimed the singer had once disclosed to him that the relationships he had with women were all for show. According to him, The Way You Make Me Feel singer had also warned him that he would have to been seen with women or give off the impression that he was in a romantic relationship with them for the sake of appearance. Safechuck's claims fall in line with when Jackson married Lisa Marie Presley around the same time that a lawsuit filed by his first accuser Jordan Chandler was reportedly settled for $23 million.
According to Daily Mail, Adrian has now made the allegation that not only did Jackson never love Lisa but that he was also using her to get to the fortune Elvis left behind. Additionally, she says Jackson also planned to usurp the rights to more than 1,000 of his songs from his daughter, who became the sole surviving beneficiary of The Elvis Presley Trust following the Love Me Tender singer's death on August 16, 1977. Adrian, who worked for Jackson at his Neverland ranch for four years, said she felt sorry for Lisa, a singer, and model when she first got into a relationship with him in 1993.
"What I felt with Lisa Marie, she was very kind. I think that Lisa really truly had a thing for Michael. I think she really liked him and the sad part is I had read notes that Michael had in his bedroom. He wrote a note on his bedroom 'to do' board, which read, 'Got to acquire the song list for Elvis'. It was pinned up on a piece of paper in ink, next to notes saying things like, 'I want to heal the universe' and 'I want to walk hand in hand with Prince Andrew's children.' I thought his Elvis note was a business plan, like when he bought the Beatles catalog. Not long after Lisa Marie turned up at the house - Michael never mentioned her before," said Adrian.
She added, "So I don't think he was being genuine to her. He wanted Elvis' legacy and I think Lisa was kind of played for a fool, sad to say. But I think she learned." The former maid further alleged the couple did not consummate their marriage, saying, "I don't believe anything sexual happened between them at all and I think after she married him, she realized he just wanted what she had." Adrian also claimed the singer used to invite boys over to his house even after he began dating Lisa. The singer was first accused of child sexual abuse not long after the couple became involved. Even then, McManus claims, "there were always boys."
Adrian said she was shocked when the singer continued to invite young boys over for sleepovers despite the Jordy Chandler abuse accusations hanging over his head. She said, "I think that Michael couldn't stop what he was doing. He was too far into what he was doing with the boys and I think that in his mind he thought, 'Well, people won't believe it, because I do good in this world.' I think he started falling down when people came up like me and four others and told what we had seen. I think when the truth kind of came out, I think a part of that destroyed him and he realized the world knows and I think that's why he began to fall in his life to get worse and worse."
McManus, who apparently still has a note reading Adrian do my room only from MJ, also revealed that the singer was adamant about only giving her and Lisa Marie access to his room. Speaking of the chemistry (or lack thereof) between the couple who were married for 15 months between May 1994 and August 1996, Adrian said, "We had a surreal moment where he hugged her in front of me by the back door. He (Jackson) just looked at me with this wry smile, where we both knew what he was thinking. I caught his eye again and he looked down laughing - I had his number. He thought he could manipulate Lisa Marie to get hold of her dad's music catalog, Michael wanted her dad's songs – not her."

She continued, "Lisa Marie and Michael had a strange relationship. I never saw them have any real genuine romantic interaction. She came to the house quite a few times, but they were always fooling around. They were more like friends than lovers; there wasn't a lot of chemistry. Lisa Marie never even stayed over in his room that I can remember; Michael always made her stay in the guest unit or Rose Room. One day Michael called me into his room and asked me to tidy the bed. I could smell perfume, which was sprayed over the sheets, and a bra was just laid underneath the bed. Lisa Marie hadn't been there, but I felt Michael was trying to prove to me that they were dating."
The former maid said she felt sorry for Lisa as was genuinely in love with Jackson, having fallen for his nice, playful side. "She never saw the man who locked himself away with children. I was surprised when they got married. I think he married Lisa Marie to prove to the world that he liked women and was straight It was his own way of gaining the world's approval after the child abuse allegations of Jordy," Adrian claimed. The Heal The World singer never did manage to acquire any rights to Presley's music though. Entertainment company CKX, now Core Media, purchased an 85 percent stake in Elvis Presley Enterprises from Lisa Marie Presley's trust for a reported $114 million in 2005.
