According to PEOPLE, the show's creator, comedian, and writer Liz Feldman also has another show greenlit by Netflix called No Good Deed. A statement from Netflix revealed that the new show will be another "dark comedy that follows three very different families vying to buy the very same 1920s Spanish-style villa that they think will solve all their problems. But as the sellers have already discovered, sometimes the home of your dreams can be a total nightmare." "No good Liz Feldman project can go unproduced," said Tracey Pakosta, Head of Comedy at Netflix. "She has an unmatched eye for dark comedy. And as we enter the final season of the brilliant Dead to Me, we are thrilled to continue our partnership with No Good Deed."

50-year-old Applegate earned an Emmy nomination for her role in season 1 of Dead To Me for her portrayal of a grieving widow. "I didn't even think that I was remotely close to having this day so it's shocking. I mean, look at who I am standing there with!" she told the outlet previously. "I was like, 'There is no way.' Yes, people have been really, really complimentary of the show and that's felt really nice because it doesn't always happen like that, but still I was like, 'How'd I squeeze in there?'"

Speaking of Dead To Me, Feldman said that the project had fulfilled her creatively while helping her ‘heal’ along the way. She previously told Collider, “From start to finish, Dead To Me is exactly the show I wanted to make. And it’s been an incredible gift. Telling a story sprung from grief and loss has stretched me as an artist and healed me as a human. I’ll be forever indebted to my partners in crime, my friends for life, Christina [Applegate] and Linda [Cardellini], and our brilliantly talented writers, cast and crew. I am beyond grateful to Netflix for supporting Dead To Me from day one, and I’m thrilled to continue our collaboration.”
