Owen Wilson 'Changed His Phone Number' & Cut Off His Girlfriend Of Five Years Once She Got Pregnant

Like most celebrities, Owen Wilson prefers to keep his personal life private. Especially when it concerns his role as a father to two sons, Robert Ford (11) and Finn Wilson (7) who he shares with two former partners. However, despite his best efforts, the actor has been unsuccessful in keeping everything about his children under wraps as his relationship—or lack thereof—with his youngest child and only daughter, Lyla Aranya Wilson (3), has long been a controversial topic. According to Us Weekly, Wilson is yet to meet the child who was born to his ex-girlfriend, Varunie Vongsvirates, in October 2018.

A source with knowledge of the troubling family dynamics told the publication that Wilson blatantly "refuses to meet his daughter" and "has not contacted Varunie at all" after she gave birth—nor during her pregnancy—despite the fact that they "dated for almost five years." The source also claimed that the Wedding Crashers star "knew all along that Varunie was pregnant. Owen was told when Varunie was four weeks pregnant" when they got home from Hawaii. Meanwhile, Radar reported more shocking claims about how Wilson reacted to the news of his then-girlfriend being pregnant.

"When Varunie told Owen she was pregnant, he was not happy about it, and that was the last time they ever spoke," a source dished to the publication. "He changed his phone number. He's never met his daughter and then he gave no heads up that he was changing his number." However, Wilson is said to have voluntarily taken a paternity test after Vongsvirates claimed she was pregnant with his child. "Owen has been a great father to his boys and has maintained a warm and close relationship with their mothers," a source said at the time. "Of course, if a paternity test establishes that he is the father of another child, he will fulfill all of his obligations to support his child."

Despite their assurance, Wilson has shown no interest in being a part of young Lyla's life. "He even checked the no visitation box in court in June... He does not want to visit [and does not] want any custody of her," an individual with knowledge of the matter claimed. Meanwhile, speaking to Daily Mail in 2019, Vongsvirates urged the star to get to know the child. "Owen has never met Lyla. Never," she said. "He helps financially but it’s never been about that. Lyla needs a father. It’s ironic how [Owen] keeps getting these father roles, he's playing a father in his new movie, and he's never met his own daughter."

"You should see your daughter, she's incredible, you're really missing out. She looks just like you," Vongsvirates added in a message for her ex. The source that spoke to Radar also confirmed that Vongsvirates speaking out about Wilson's refusal to meet the little girl has "nothing" to do with money. "Varunie's mother passed away when she was still kind of young and impressionable," they said. "She knows what it's like to grow up with one parent. She doesn't want that to happen to her daughter. She just wants her daughter to have a normal life. It didn’t work out between the two of them – that happens – but to abandon his child is rude and wrong."
