Even after multiple hurdles and a short break, their relationship is still stronger than ever.
Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Monday, July 4, 2022. The singer posted an old picture of them from their wedding. "40 Years Ago Today! Happy Anniversary My Love," the Black Sabbath rocker, 73, captioned the photo of the pair, PEOPLE reported.
In the snap, Sharon, 69, is seen wearing a white gown paired with a white veil as she holds a bouquet of white and pink flowers. Ozzy is standing beside her, wearing a white suit with a vine of leaves draped around his neck. The Osbourne bride also shared an image to commemorate the momentous occasion. “It marks 40 years of marriage to my darling Ozzy. We first met when I was 18, over 52 years we have been friends, lovers, husband & wife, grandparents and soulmates," she wrote accompanying a photo of the couple. “Always at each other's side. I love you Ozzy ~ Sharrrrrrron.”
Before this celebration, however, Sharon had much reason to be concerned. In June, she went back to Los Angeles to take care of her husband after an important surgery. She even turned down The Talk UK, saying she would not be appearing on the British talk show in person until July. "He has a very major operation on Monday, and I have to be there," Sharon said at the time. "It's really going to determine the rest of his life."
She had also decided to take a break in order to be with her son as he welcomed his second daughter and mentioned her upcoming wedding anniversary. At the time, she said they did not have any celebrations planned as it depended "on everything with Ozzy." Later, Ozzy took to Twitter to notify his fans that he was doing alright after the very important surgery. "I am now home from the hospital recuperating comfortably," he wrote. "I am definitely feeling the love and support from all my fans and send everyone a big thank you for their thoughts, prayers and well wishes during my recovery."
The couple has been together for 52 years now and married for 40, but in the middle, they had gone through a phase that changed the direction of their marriage. Tying the knot in 1982, they stood strong for 33 years before announcing a split in May 2016 when reports surfaced that Ozzy had been unfaithful. However, they reconciled in September of that year.
Speaking to Rolling Stone in 2017 about this short break and his infidelity, he said, “It's a rock 'n' roll thing—you rock and you roll. You take the good with the bad. When I was a crazy fu**er, I'm lucky she didn't walk out.” Ozzy also spoke about his derogatory comments regarding married life and spouses, expressing how guilty he felt after saying those things. “I upset my wife and I upset my family and I made a lot of shock and shame. I love my wife, and it made me realize what a fu**ing idiot I've been,” he opened up.

Sharon made her own comment, saying that the only reason she forgave her husband is that he decided to make a change in his life. "Thirty-five years with someone is a hell of a long time. And I think I fell out of love with my husband and then fell back again," she admitted during an episode of The Talk, adding that Ozzy was "trying so hard to be a better person." Ozzy, at the time, worked with a therapist to “get with the program.” She praised this saying, “I just had a newfound love." Sharon added, "And I respected him because he's seriously trying to be a better person.”
