Trump's personal secretary claimed he would not take photos with his younger daughter Tiffany because of her weight. Amidst the controversy, she responded with sophistication.
During an off-the-record dinner with reporters, former Director of Oval Office Operations at the White House Madeleine Westerhout allegedly revealed some scathing details about President Donald Trump's relationship with his younger daughter Tiffany Trump. While Ivanka is often seen beside him, Tiffany has taken somewhat of a backseat, causing much interest in their relationship. According to CNN, Westerhout disclosed that the father-daughter duo was not on the best of terms, adding that the President did not like to be seen with his younger daughter because she is overweight. Following the incident, Westerhout was forced to resign for violating confidentiality agreements, whereas Tiffany has taken to social media platform Instagram to share a quote about self-love, swatting away the haters with maturity and confidence, PEOPLE reports.
Tiffany posted a quote by Rumi, a celebrated Persian poet from the 13th century. The quote, uploaded to her Instagram Story, read, "Study me as much as you like, you will never know me. For I differ a hundred ways from what you see me to be. Put yourself behind my eyes, and see me as I see myself. Because I have chosen to dwell in a place you can't see." The quote may explain why the younger daughter is not in the limelight as often as her siblings.
President Trump, too, has since made a statement in response to the controversy. On Twitter, he conveyed his belief in Westerhout's professional capabilities while simultaneously reaffirming his love for Tiffany. The President wrote: While Madeleine Westerhout has a fully enforceable confidentiality agreement, she is a very good person and I don’t think there would ever be reason to use it. She called me yesterday to apologize, had a bad night. I fully understood and forgave her! I love Tiffany, doing great!
The controversy began when, according to Politico, Westerhout and deputy White House press secretary Hogan Gidley held a dinner party earlier this month with reporters during Trump’s vacation at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. During the event, the former Operations Director made several jabs about Trump's younger daughter, including that he would not be able to pick her out of a crowd and chose not to take photos with her because she is overweight. Allegedly, Westerhout also claimed that the President loved her more than any of his own children. Well, like any other day in the Trump administration, this was just another futile scandal laid to rest.
