The award-winning actor's post inspired fans and friends to send him messages of support.

There's no denying that Will Smith is one of the most charismatic actors in Hollywood and he's incredibly easy on the eyes too. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star is 52 years old but has always been pretty fit throughout his career. But the award-winning actor recently admitted that he's not in the greatest place when it comes to his fitness. Like many people, Smith too has undergone struggles during the pandemic and his fitness seems to be one of them.  The actor shared a rather relatable photo of himself in a pair of small black trunks, an unzipped hoodie showing off his belly and chest. He captioned the image: I’m gonna be real wit yall - I’m in the worst shape of my life.



With this candid admission, The Pursuit of Happyness actor's honest and relatable struggle reflects that stars are just like us. Friends and fans of the actor were quick to show Smith plenty of support and encouragement. Award-winning director Ava said: I see no “worst” here. Artist sarashakeel wrote: But you seem really happy! ❤️❤️❤️ that’s all the only SHAPE we should care about. DJ Jazzy Jeff, his co-star on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air joked: We’re twins. Smith appears to be wholeheartedly embracing his dad bod at the moment, he's also looking forward to getting fit.  He captioned another post, writingThis is the body that carried me through an entire pandemic and countless days grazing thru the pantry. I love this body, but I wanna FEEL better. No more midnight muffins…this is it! Imma get in the BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE!!!!! Teaming up with @YouTube to get my health & wellness back on track. Hope it works!

According to Billboard the rapper-actor plans to take his fans along on his personal fitness journey. His efforts will be documented in a new six-part unscripted series with YouTube Originals and Westbrook Media tentatively titled Best Shape of My Life. The series is set to premiere in 2022.



While Smith encouraged others to show off their quarantine bodies on Instagram, he later told them to share "After pics due in 12 weeks!" as part of the new #BigWillieChallenge. Many celebrities have hopped on to this fitness challenge. Actor Marlon Wayans shared a picture of his body, writing: Hey @willsmith posting my dad body/quarantine body too... fuck it! Wait a month... gonna post my transformation by my bday. I’ll have the best body of my life 7/23/2021 stay tuned. #dadbodychallenge. with celebs began posting similar images as well.



As for the upcoming YouTube series, the official description reads: This new six-part fitness unscripted series from Westbrook Media and YouTube Originals is the story of Will Smith, looking up one day to find himself in middle age, rebuilding his body into the best shape of his life and getting his groove back along the way. This is the fun, funny, inspirational, wildly adventurous, and deeply entertaining story of Smith challenging himself to improve every aspect of his fitness, from agility to power to recovery and more, teaming up with guests including pro athletes, scientists and experts, and top YouTube creators.



Smith has been quite busy with work even amid the pandemic. The actor hosted Snapchat's Will From Home and Netflix's documentary series Amend. He was also on the much-awaited Fresh Prince reunion special on HBO Max. As for his work on screen, the actor signed on to play a runaway slave in Antoine Fuqua's action thriller Emancipation.

According to PEOPLE, the actor's body is no stranger to transformations. To essay the role of the legendary boxer, Muhammad Ali, in the biopic Ali, Smith underwent some heavy training to be at his fittest at the time. The actor also showed off his chiseled abs while doing pull-ups in his 2007 film, I Am Legend. It'll be interesting to see how Smith will get back on track on his fitness journey and inspire others along the way!
